I'm a big fan of Tim Holtz Ranger Products. I've put here the 2 different types just for quick comparison. And believe me, there are so many other different types out there.
LEFT : Ranger Embossing Powder. It is very fine and when it melts under the heat gun, the embossing effect is much nicer.
RIGHT : Ranger Distress Embossing Powder. Powder is coarse and after embossing, the surface is rough.
Suitable for a rustic, vintage look.....which happens to be my favourite! Even when you mess it up, it's still alright! :)
And this what I did for my wind chime. The background ink used is also a Ranger Product (Ranger Distress Ink - Aged Mahogany) and the leaf stamp was stamped after creating the background. Here, I used the Ranger Distress Powder. I guess you can't really see from the picture, but the leaf effect is rough, aged, vintage and rustic looking!
