All these rubber stamps are super precious to me, so cleaning and maintaining them is really important to prolong its lifespan. I personally use Double Stamp Scrubber, spray with Spritz Rubber Stamp Cleaner AND Ultra Clean (which is stronger) on one side of the stamp scrubber.
After use, just place your stamps on the side which has been sprayed with the cleaning agent and gently wipe it by circular motion. Once it's clean, just dry it on the other side of the Double Stamp Scrubber in circular motion as well. You don't have to put in a lot of pressure while cleaning as it will stain the base of the scrubber.
DO NOT
- clean stamps under running water, in the long run, the glue between the wood and rubber stamp will start to give way.
- use dry tissue to wipe off ink. Small bits of tissue will be left on the rubber stamps.
OTHER ALTERNATIVES TO CLEAN
- use wet wipes (dry one piece overnight). After stamping, use wet wipes to lightly dab over the stamp, removing excess ink. Then, use the dry piece to wipe off any residual soap from the wet wipes.
- there are other types of stamp cleaners such as Imprintz Rubber Stamp Cleaner, which has a scrubber top applicator. You can just use the scrubber top and apply it directly to your rubber stamp. Pretty convenient!
